About Lauren Eckstein

Lauren is an estate litigation lawyer in the firm’s Edmonton office. Her practice focuses on contentious estate matters, including Will validity challenges, disputes involving personal representatives and beneficiaries, claims against estates, and contested adult guardianship and trusteeship proceedings.

Lauren began her legal career in criminal defence, where she gained substantial courtroom experience and built a strong foundation in litigation and advocacy. Since moving to estate litigation in 2020, she has drawn on that experience to navigate complex legal disputes, combining effective advocacy with a practical, results-oriented approach.

Lauren recognizes that estate disputes are often deeply personal, involving longstanding family dynamics, competing interests, and significant emotional challenges. She is committed to giving clients clear, candid advice and realistic expectations, and to developing strategies tailored to their individual circumstances.

Her approach to litigation is strategic and pragmatic. She knows when a negotiated resolution best serves her clients’ interests and when decisive court intervention is necessary. Above all, she is committed to protecting her clients’ interests through thoughtful, effective advocacy and the pursuit of practical, cost-effective resolutions.

Outside of her practice, Lauren enjoys travelling, golfing, playing soccer, and spending time with her family of five.
